2017 Tour de USA Paso Robles Wine Adventure
Find Your Driving Partner and Block Your Calendar!
Hey. It’s time to block your calendar and find a driving partner for the most fun road rally you will ever experience – sunshine, twisty roads, great wine, California’s Central Coast, and helping cancer survivors.
Some of California’s best wines are made in the Paso Robles region. Paso Robles was named Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s 2013 Wine region of the Year and Sunset Magazine named if the Best Wine Region in the West in 2016.
From October 27-29, 5 cars with 10 lucky people will be part of the inaugural Tour de USA Paso Robles wine adventure.
We’ll start the weekend at Malibu Yogurt and Ice Cream and drive to the historic Cold Spring Tavern on the old Stagecoach Road, and then on Paso Robles via Highways 154 and 101, with a short scenic stop at Avila Beach if time permits.
You will stay Friday and Saturday evening at the highly rated Oaks Hotel in Paso Robles. All rooms have king size beds but twin double beds are available.
Friday and Saturday evenings will be very special. Friday evening will be a wine-paired dinner at Thomas Hill Organics, which specializes in local farm-to-table produce.
Saturday is a chauffeured wine tasking tour to four very special wineries. At the mid-point we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of some of California’s most beautiful vineyards.
Saturday evenings meal will be just as exciting as Friday. You’ll be dining at the famous Villa Creek Restaurant and Bar . . .
“It seems that practically everyone visiting Paso Robles wine country passes through Villa Creek. That’s easy to understand, because this winemaker hangout serves up youthful energy, satisfying food and an exciting wine list with excellent prices.” WINE SPECTATOR
Sunday morning will be a leisurely full breakfast at the Oaks Hotel followed by an olive oil tasting at Pasolivo and our final wine tasting that includes a lunch of fresh pizza baked just for us in the outside oven at Dubost Ranch while we taste the last flights of wine.
Sunday lunch ends the formal part of our two-day Paso Robles adventure. If you are returning to Los Angeles, you might join the Cancer Journeys team in our stop at Buttonwillow Raceway for a tour of the facility. [Robert is a bit of a race buff.]
This is an all-inclusive trip. Everything described above, meals, lodging, tastings, and chauffeured Saturday tour is included in your package.
As an added bonus, we’re going to have a student media team with us to record the event and create a video of the adventure, which will free to all participants.
Finally, each participant receives a copy of The New Wine Country Cookbook: Recipes from California’s Central Coast by award winning author of twenty-five cookbooks, Brigit Binns, and a commemorative wine glass specially created for this event.
The donation to participate in this event is $745.00 per person, double occupancy.
Each participant will receive a donation letter from the Cancer Journeys Foundation for $200 ($400 per couple) to file with his or her tax return.
Intrigued? Ready to be Part of this Terrific Event? Then it’s Time to Save Your Spot!
We have room for just five cars and ten people in October. This means that you will enjoy a wonderful wine tasting adventure with a small group, ensuring you get the best possible wine experience. You’ll meet new wines and make new friends.
It’s free to put your name on the list – spots will be offered to people according to when they join the list – but final payment is due by August 15, 2017 to confirm your place. You can always drop from the list before August 15, but you won’t be able to move up on the list.
