Cancer Survivorship

Welcome to the Cancer Journeys Foundation. I am Robert Hess, a founder, and a 21-year cancer survivor.  I have a lot of personal experience with cancer: my father died of lung cancer; my older sister died of pancreatic cancer; and my younger sister is in her fourth year as a Stage 3 breast cancer survivor.

The Cancer Journeys Foundation’s mission is to provide the knowledge, support, and community that cancer survivors need to develop and implement cancer survivorship plans and cancer survivor journey maps.

I know from personal experience the emotional lows of a cancer diagnosis and I have experienced first-hand the challenges of finding information and support in dealing with a cancer diagnosis.  No one should have to face cancer alone.  That’s our mission – to be there for cancer survivors.

We are guided by the same spirit that drove one of the world’s great wartime leaders . . .

“Never, never, never give up.”

Winston Churchill

If you are a cancer survivor, we invite you to explore elements of our website for information that supports your cancer journey and share your thoughts and any other resources you have found that can help your fellow cancer survivors.

Exercise can be an essential physical and emotional element in preventing cancer and its return.  Our annual bicycling event in Virginia, the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo is back!  Details and registration are at the following link:  Alpine Loop Gran Fondo.

You also can find us virtually on Zwift and Strava.

Warm regards,

Robert and the CJF Team
