Bicycling Helps Beat Cancer

Cancer hates a healthy body. Exercise is a key element in having a healthy body.  Bicycling is great exercise. It’s as easy as one, two, three!

The Cancer Journeys Foundation has created a bicycling club using the Strava.com app. The group is free to join and you can track your personal miles and add your rides to our overall goal of #RidingCancerIntoTheGround.

Once you log enough miles for a ride around the world – 24,906.1 miles at the equator – you quality to snag one of our limited edition Around The World cycling jerseys from Primal.

How to Get Started on Your Ride Around the World

  1. Create your free Strava.com account
  2. Search for “Cancer Journeys Foundation” under cycling and join our group
  3. Ride and log your miles
  4. Email us when you’ve finished [It took me 10 years to finish, but it was great fun and it kept me health!]

Allez!

Simple Cycling Mileage Tracking

I like to exercise and cycling is one of my favorite was to relax and decompress. But I’m also a bit of a numbers guy and I like to track my progress.

Following my prostate cancer treatment in 2003, I created a simple Excel Spreadsheet to track my data. Over time, I included some simple metrics like: morning heart rate, weight, miles ridden (this is how I tracked my Around the World Mileage), elevation climbed, riding time, and calories burned.

Now, I include my walks with my wife. It’s fun for me to look back and see what I’ve done. I can tell that when my mileage is down my emotional state suffers a bit.

I’m happy to share a copy with you. Just complete the contact form below and I’ll send one along.

Warm regards,

Robert
